Leading Next Generation Learning

The Information revolution brought about in recent years have made ICT (Information Communication Technology) one of the fundamental keys for the success of schools and their adaptation to life in the 21st century, so that they can meet the challenge of preparing students to be a part of the information society.

CET has been a leader in introducing ICT based teaching, learning and evaluation into the classroom and into the education system in Israel at large.

 K-12 Digital Content & On-line Environments

CET develops both digital content and advanced technology for teaching, learning and evaluation by various means, and provides students and teachers with quality educational websites aimed to respond to the needs of each age group and in each subject area. For example:

Early childhood - our website (in Hebrew) Maya’s Secret (http://sodmaya.co.il) offers children at the ages 4-7 a range of fun, creative and engaging learning activities in Math, Hebrew, English, Bible stories and much more.

Elementary School - Ofek  (http://ofek.cet.ac.il), our bilingual (Hebrew and Arabic) teaching, learning and evaluation on-line environment contains a learning management system (LMS) and a large collection of curriculum based learning activities and evaluation assignments in all subject areas (Hebrew, Math, Science, Social Studies, Bible, Current Events and more). Ofek also offers innovative generators, such as online comics generator, Math exercises generator, writing generator and more, which allow teachers to create their own teaching material in order to accommodate to the specific needs of their students.

Junior & high School - CET has developed a range of websites dedicated to every  subject area in the curriculum, each containing a rich library library, digital textbooks, on-line lectures, discussion forums for teachers and students, lesson plans and more. For example, see our History website (in Hebrew) TolDot (http://toldot.cet.ac.il), which contains hundreds of information items on its History library, short films on various historical topics, on-line lectures, a full section dedicated to Holocaust studies, a web 2.0 on-line authentic historic pictures album and much more.

Our Civic and Democracy website , a bilingual website (in Hebrew and Arabic), includes the complete Civic Studies textbook in an on-line digital version, accompanied with an innovative tool which allows users (both teachers and students) to post "Wiki notes" where they can share their comments and opinions on the original text. The website also contains teaching and learning activities that run parallel to each chapter and each topic discussed in the text.

The "Virtual Campus" for Teachers

CET is also the developer of the “Virtual Campus”, Israel’s online campus for teachers, which offers a range of courses in all subjects. Through the virtual campus, teachers can view lectures and share their professional knowledge at any time, and from anywhere. The campus was adopted by the Ministry of Education and now hosts more than 70,000 teachers.

On-line Websites & Digital Libraries

CET is committed to Life Long Learning. As such, CET has invested many resources in the development of on-line environments, websites, digital libraries, lexicons and more, that will serve not only the education system, but also various groups and communities (such as communities which celebrate Jewish Culture in a pluralistic approach, organizations that promote coexistence, etc.), as well as the general public at large.
